male nor female, slave nor free.”

We are excited to resume in-person worship, starting at 11 am on May 2nd! We will hold worship outside, rain or shine, in the parking lot and on the lawn outside the church building. Bring your own chairs and sit on the lawn, or if you prefer, you may stay in your car.
If you join us in person, please keep in mind that there are some safety rules to follow:
Stay home if you are sick or have been exposed. Please take your temperature before you come. If you (1) have a fever of 100.4 F or greater, (2) have any of symptoms of COVID-19 (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html), or (3) have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19 and are not fully vaccinated, please stay home.
If you are fully vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask. We respectfully ask those who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing a mask. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, you are always welcome to do so.
Maintain social distancing at all times. This applies even if you have been vaccinated.
Sign in. A volunteer will sign in and collect contact information for those who come to the service.
Mind the cones! Part of the parking lot, including the Thomson Road entrance, will be closed to traffic. Please enter and exit the parking lot via the Emmet St. entrance and follow the directions of the attendant.
If you have any questions or concerns about our COVID-19 safety policies, please contact Matt Zimmerman, chair of the Healthy Church Team, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 434-964-8237.
For those not yet ready to join us in person, our worship service will also be on Zoom and live on our YouTube Channel. The link to Zoom will be sent out in the weekly newsletter every Thursday. To be added to our newsletter, please email the church office.
Connect with Us
We'd love to hear from you! Fill out our connection form to tell us who you are, what you're looking for, and pass along any questions or prayer requests.
Kids Tent during outside worship
While we are worshiping outside in the parking lot and on the front lawn, children are invited to our kids tent during the service for play, crafts, and lessons with our volunteers. The tent is on the front lawn within view of the congregation, so children can rejoin the service at any time.
Location and Parking
We are located in the heart of the Grounds of the University of Virginia at 1901 Thomson Road, Charlottesville, Virginia, (at the corner of Emmet Street and Thomson Road).
Our campus is directly across from the U.Va. Central Grounds Parking Garage and Memorial Gym, two blocks south of the intersection of Rt. 250 (Ivy Road) and Rt. 29 Business (Emmet Street).
On Sundays, parking is available to members and visitors in the parking lot adjacent to the Church.
Parking may also be found on nearby streets and in the University of Virginia Central Grounds Parking Garage just across Emmet Street from the Church. Special Note: If you return to your car before 1 p.m. and take your bulletin from our worship service for the attendant, your parking at the garage will be free.
Children are warmly welcomed and encouraged to be full participants in worship. Age-appropriate materials are provided.
Our facility is fully handicapped accessible, with a ramp from the parking lot into the sanctuary, accessible restrooms, and an elevator for access to all levels of the buildings. Our sanctuary is equipped with a hearing loop for those who need assistance, and we provide large print hymnals and Bibles on request.
