Opening


Approval of outstanding minutes

  1. Sue motioned to approve the minutes as presented. Carolyn seconded. All approved.


Finance/treasurer

  1. At the end of the year, we may have to pull from Carryover Fund to pay apportionments.

  2. Staff Health disbursement issues; Rosie is paying back two months due to changes in plans, and this will deduct from the category over the next few months.

  3. Cottage-Emmet St line is negative from the return of the washing machine.

  4. Office supplies increased due to color copies and chairs.


Trustees

  1. The elevator is repaired.

  2. Cleaning will remain at 2 times per week.

  3. We will take up a love offering for Anthony’s medical needs; donations may be made by November 3rd.

  4. The tree on the other side of the sidewalk has been removed by the city.

  5. The dehumidifier is not in the preschool classroom any longer but needs to be moved back.

  6. Insulation is an ongoing conversation.

  7. October 8th Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conversation group did an assessment of the grounds, and we are reviewing ways to mitigate issues. Rosie will work with Trustees and gardening group to determine solutions and decisions that need to be made.

  8. We need another company for mowing.

  9. Workday is October 26th.


SPR

  1. Chrissy McDaniel’s last day was Sunday.

  2. The bonus gift planned for the end of the year was given on Sunday along with a cake after church with time to thank her.

  3. We are searching for a new nursery/children’s space coordinator.

  4. Contracts for Monica and Rosie for duties and expectations need to be finalized.Dan Jordan is stepping off of the SPRC.

  5. Juliana Piacentini is interested and willing to step onto SPRC.

  6. All voted in favor of Juliana replacing Dan.


Ministries

  1. Discussion about the ongoing conversations with MCW’s current ministries, other ministries of Wesley, people to lead initiatives, etc.


Pastor’s Report

  1. Isaac sent out a paternity leave preparation form with upcoming events before on leave and questions people may ask and how to handle those.

  2. Isaac will be out from January 24-March 24.

  3. Last week, Isaac and Monica sent out interest email to 28 people who have been attending about interest in joining the church, and so far, 10 people have committed to joining. Others are interested but not available on the next date for joining and may join later in the fall.

  4. Monica and Isaac reading Fusion. On November 3rd, there will be a session for new position for greeters and connection card system. This will go into effect on November 10th. System is essentially within 36 hours of attending receive personalized email, within 96 hours receive mailing and coffee card. Same for 2nd visit. 1 month after visit get a plant.

  5. Border visits and discussion continues, and Isaac has been talking to several Conferences, the Batten School, the Law School, William & Mary, and Washington & Lee about involvement.
